Heat Pump Servicing – Terms & Conditions (New Zealand)
Service Offer
The $80 Heat Pump Servicing offer covers a standard residential heat pump clean and check.
What’s included:
• Cleaning filters and coils on indoor and outdoor units
• General cleaning of panels (indoor and outdoor)
• Checking fans on both units
• Ensuring the system operates correctly on all modes (cooling, heating, fan, dehumidifier, auto)
• Spraying bug repellent on the outdoor unit
• Checking pipe runs and electrical connections
• Checking air flow and refrigerant charge
1. Eligibility
Commercial or multi-unit systems may incur additional costs. Wall-mounted split systems, floor consoles, cassettes, or ducted systems are included. Commercial package units are excluded. Additional fees may apply if the service takes longer than one hour. Hourly rate $80 per hour. This service does not include deep cleaning (removing covers or chemical washing). Any work requiring disassembly is considered a deep clean and will be quoted separately.
2. Service Area & Mileage
The $80 offer applies to locations within 10 km of our base. A mileage fee may apply depending on your location. Travel fees will be confirmed before your booking is finalised.
3. Booking & Payment
Bookings are subject to technician availability. Payment is due within one week of service unless otherwise arranged. Accepted payment methods: cash, EFTPOS, or bank transfer.
4. Cancellations & Rescheduling
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or reschedules. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment may incur a $40 fee. In the event of severe weather or unforeseen circumstances, we may reschedule your appointment for safety or operational reasons.
5. Limitations of Service
This service is a preventative maintenance clean, not a full repair. The technician will report any visible faults discovered during the service. Repairs, replacement parts, and refrigerant top-ups are not included in the $80 offer but can be quoted separately.
We accept no responsibility for pre-existing faults or for any damage that occurs as a result of such faults being aggravated during normal servicing.
6. Health & Safety
Please ensure safe and clear access to both indoor and outdoor units. Technicians may refuse service if conditions are unsafe or access is obstructed.
7. Warranty & Liability
We guarantee our workmanship for 7 days from the date of service. This warranty covers workmanship only, not the performance, lifespan, or efficiency of the unit. To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of profit, data, or use.
8. Customer Responsibility
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the unit is installed correctly, safely accessible, and maintained between services. We are not responsible for faults caused by poor installation, misuse, lack of maintenance, pest infestation, or weather damage.
9. No Guarantee of Performance
While we perform checks to ensure your system runs efficiently, we cannot guarantee future performance, energy savings, or fault-free operation after the service.
10. Deep Cleaning and Repairs
This service does not include chemical washing, disassembly, or internal component repair. Any deep cleaning, repairs, or parts replacement will be quoted separately and performed only with customer approval.
11. Force Majeure
We are not responsible for delays or inability to provide service due to circumstances beyond our control (including but not limited to weather, natural disasters, illness, or equipment failure).
12. Privacy
Customer information is collected solely for booking and service purposes. Personal data will not be shared with third parties without consent.
13. Right to Refuse Service
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel service in cases of unsafe conditions, unreasonable expectations, or repeated last-minute cancellations.
14. Service Limitations and Disclaimer
All services are performed to the best of our ability using standard cleaning procedures. We make no warranties or representations, express or implied, regarding the ongoing performance, lifespan, or manufacturer warranty of your heat pump following servicing.
15. Property Damage Disclaimer
We take care to avoid damage during servicing, but we are not responsible for any existing damage, corrosion, brittle materials, pest nests, or wear and tear that may cause breakage or leaks during or after the service.
16. Manufacturer Warranty Notice
Our service does not replace or alter any manufacturer warranty. Customers should refer to the manufacturer or installer for warranty claims or coverage of parts and labour.
17. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising from this agreement will be subject to the jurisdiction of New Zealand courts.
18. Acceptance
By booking, paying for, or accepting service, the customer confirms they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
19. Condition of Equipment
The customer acknowledges that the technician cannot assess internal system integrity without full disassembly. Hidden faults, corrosion, or damage inside sealed components are outside the scope of this service.
20. Refusal or Termination of Service
We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue service at any time if unsafe, unsanitary, or unreasonable conditions are present. No refunds will be issued once service has commenced under such circumstances.
21. Refund Policy
Refunds are only issued where required by New Zealand consumer law. No refunds are provided for completed work unless workmanship is proven defective within the warranty period.
22. Photos & Documentation
We may take photos of the unit or work area before and after servicing for quality assurance, record-keeping, or warranty verification.
Photos are for internal use only and will not be shared publicly.
23. Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA)
Statement Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986. However, for business customers or non-domestic systems, the Consumer Guarantees Act does not apply.
24. Indemnity Clause
The customer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the service provider, its employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of the customer’s breach of these Terms & Conditions or misuse of the serviced equipment.
25. Third-Party Work Disclaimer
We are not responsible for any work performed by other service providers before or after our visit. Any subsequent modifications, cleaning, or repairs by third parties void our workmanship warranty.
26. Service Refusal for Health or Safety Risks
We may refuse or stop service immediately if the environment poses a health, safety, or legal risk (including presence of asbestos, mould, aggressive animals, or hazardous wiring).
27. Price Adjustments & Quoting Accuracy
All pricing is subject to change without notice. Any additional costs identified on-site (e.g. deep cleaning, replacement parts, or accessibility challenges) will be discussed with the customer before proceeding.
28. Communication & Agreement
All communications, quotes, and agreements are considered accepted once the customer books a service or provides access to the property.
29. Severability Clause
If any part of these Terms & Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining clauses will continue in full effect.
30. Full Agreement
These Terms & Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the service provider and the customer and supersede any prior verbal or written agreements.
